The largest mosque in Marrakech, Koutoubia had inspired other monument such Giralda in Seville. It was founded in the second half of the 12 century; the name of the Koutoubia came from the activity of writers, and calligraphers in a courtyard near the mosque. This site occupies an area of 5300 square meters, and has 11 domed vaults; its minaret is decorated in its upper parts. Saadian Tombs

The Saadian tombs are one of the only remains of the Saadian dynasty. That reined over the golden age of Marrakech from 1524 to 1659.
