After a delicious breakfast in your Riad, we leave Casablanca behind, driving to Merzouga desert. Our first destination will be a beautiful town in the Middle Atlas Mountains. It’s often referred to as the Switzerland of Morocco. After a stop here , we carry on driving across the Middle Atlas Mountains. We will stop in a cedar forest for a while to watch some rare Barbary macaques in the wild. Lunch will be in a restaurant in Zaida Village along the way. Then, continue traveling to Midelt city. overnight at a Kasbah Hotel.

Day 2: Midelt to Merzouga Desert via Ziz Valley & Tafilalet Oasis

Camel trip to the Sahara desert Camp

Breakfast in your Kasbah Hotel in Midelt. Then we leave for the Sahara desert, via the Tizi N Telghemt and along the Ziz Valley. Arrive at Merzouga town (a small village on the edge of Erg Chebbi Dunes) late afternoon. Here, your camels and the guide will be waiting to take you across the Sahara desert to your desert camp. On the way to your camp, you will stop in a high dune to watch a calm sunset, over the giant Sand dunes of Erg Chebbi. Then, carry on the ride. You will be greeted by a cup of tea once you arrive at the camp. Relax in your private tent before dinner time. After an appetizing dinner, you will get a seat around a campfire with Berbers. Listen to some Berber music, and share the culture while looking under a starry sky.

1. WHAT TYPE OF VEHICLES ARE USED?This is a great question! At “Visit Morocco Sahara” vehicle comfort is so important. That’s why we use Toyota Prado Land Cruiser Tx, Ford 8 seater van, Mercedes Benz sprinter minibus for groups of more than 8 people, and many other comfortable vehicles. 2. HOW FAR IN ADVANCE SHOULD I BOOK THE TOUR? We recommend booking as soon as you know the dates.

3. HOW DO I TAKE MY LUGGAGE TO THE CAMP?

When your camel trek starts, a 4×4 vehicle will carry your luggage. So, you find your luggage once you arrive the camp. 4. IS IT POSSIBLE TO HAVE VEGETARIAN OR VEGAN FOOD? Yes, it’s possible to provide vegetarian or vegan food. Please let your driver/guide know in the morning of the first day. 5. I DON’T WANT TO RIDE A CAMEL, HOW DO I REACH THE CAMP?If you don’t want to ride a camel, we’ll take you by a 4×4 vehicle to the camp. 6. IS THE SANDBOARDING INCLUDED? Yes, sandboarding or sand surfing is included . Please, let your driver/guide know if you’re interested in sandboarding. He’ll make sure you get a board once you get to the camp, because there’re just a few boards.

7. HOW DO I PAY FOR THE 3-Day Desert Tour From Marrakech?

First, we ask for a small deposit to be paid via PayPal to our account. Second, the rest of the payment cash, and should be paid to our driver/guide in euros or dollars, or equivalent in dirhams on the first day.

How cold is it during the night in the desert? In the winter, the desert gets quite cold at night (temperatures can drop to around 0). Warm blankets will be provided, but we recommend that you bring warm sleeping clothes. How long is camel ride in Merzouga dunes?The camel trek lasts for about 1 hour, depending on the season, daylight, etc.
