Morocco 21 day itinerary, the tour takes you to explore the highlight of Morocco starting from Casablanca or Marrakech to Rabat, Chefchaouen, Meknes and Fez. Then, travelling across the Atlas towns and the valley of Ziz, we will reach Merzouga where you will spend a night in the desert of Erg Chebbi Dunes. After that, the tour takes you to Casablanca after visiting the valleys of Morocco, Ouarzazate and the Kasbah of Ait Benhaddo. Day 1: Marrakesh First day of your Morocco 21 day itinerary. Your Morocco travel adventure begins when you arrive at Marrakesh Airport and are met by your driver guide and welcomed to the fascinating old Moroccan imperial city of Marrakesh spectacularly situated near the base of the soaring High Atlas Mountains of Morocco.  Experience true Moroccan atmosphere staying at one of the beautiful Marrakesh riads.  Overnight in Marrakesh riad. 

Day 2: Marrakesh

 Second day of your Morocco 21 day itinerary. Day 3: Marrakesh – Essaouira

You can explore Essaouira’ s attractive UNESCO world heritage medina with its extensive old Mellah, colourful traditional port’s lively fish markets and brightly painted small boats and old cannon studded sea wall ramparts. Day 4: free day in Essaouira to explore the city

Discover the beautiful port city of Essaouira and the warm hospitality of its inhabitants.

Stroll through the old medina and its ramparts.

Admire the beach, the port, the souks, the medina, and the craft galleries. Explore the old Jewish Quarter.

Visit the Skala and its cannons.

Day 5 : Essaouira to Taroudant via Agadir 

today we will travel to Taroudant via Taghazout and Agadir along the coast.

Taroudant  is a city in the Sous Valley in south western Morocco. It is situated east of Agadir on the road to Ouarzazate and the Sahara desert and south of Marrakesh. The town is known as the “Grandmother of Marrakech” because it looks like a smaller Marrakech with its surrounding ramparts. In the 16th century, the Saadi dynasty briefly used Taroudant as a capital before it moved its royal seat onwards to Marrakesh. Today, the city has the feel of a small fortified market town on a caravan route. Overnight in a Riad in Taroudant.

Day 6: Taroudant to Ouarzazate via Ait Benhaddou Kasbah 

after breakfast we will start our journey to Ouarzazate via the capital of saffron Taleouen and to the Ait Benhaddou Kasbah Hollywood of Africa.

The ksar, a group of earthen buildings surrounded by high walls, is a traditional pre-Saharan habitat. The houses crowd together within the defensive walls, which are reinforced by corner towers. Ait-Ben-Haddou, in Ouarzazate province, is a striking example of the architecture of southern Morocco. A large number of international  films shot in Morocco have used Aït Benhaddou as a location. Overnight in Ouarzazate.

Day 7: explore Ouarzazate city & Oasis

visit World largest Atlas Studio, Taourirt Kasbah, visit Amridil Kasbah and a guided talking tour in the Oasis of Skoura before you get back to your Riad in Ouarzazate.

Day 8: Ouarzazate to Zagora via Tatamegroute pottery & Draa Valley

today you will Travel to Zagora via Agdez, and Atlas mountains. Today you will explore many beautiful Berber villages and Kasbah in Draa Valley. As well as Tatamegroute pottery, The long dusty road leading to Tamegroute takes me back in time. The family-run pottery workshops in the oasis. Not far from the Sahara desert, are among the oldest in the country. Dating back to the mid-1600s, they remain virtually unchanged. Artisans still work with manual pottery wheels in a building; made from the same clay used to make pots and tiles. Finished pieces are fired in multi-chambered wood stoves.

These pottery workshops aren’t just old. They’re also home to one the greatest secrets of Morocco. There is a particular shade of green traditionally used in the pottery of this region. It’s a green you won’t be able to find anywhere else. Overnight at a Riad in Zagora.

Day 9: Agdez to Toudra Gorges via The Jbel Saghro 

in the morning after breakfast you will start your adventure towards the Todra gorge and Todra Valley via Nkob and stunning views of the Jbel Saghro, once you get to Todra Gorge, you will do an easy walk tour in the oasis with local guide. Overnight in Todra Gorges.

Day 10: Todra Gorge to Erg Chebbi Desert via Tafilalet Oasis

Today your adventure, will take you to the highest sand dunes in the north Africa. Erg Chebbi dunes; before we get to Desert dunes you will have chance, to visit the bigest local Souk in the sahara. Called Tafilalet souk (Market); afteraord, we travel to Merzouga. there you will catch an amazing sunset over sand dunes. Overnight at a Riad in the Sahara.

Day 11: Tour around Sahara – Camel ride & Overnight at the Camp

Today we take our 4×4 to drive around the mystic Erg Chebbi dunes, and stop for tea with a nomadic desert family. And then  get to know their way of living. from here we continue to visit Khamlia a small village, inhabited by black people to listen to their traditional Gnawa music. Have lunch with our family and friends. then, get ready accompanied by a camelguide, to go for an authentic camel trek experience, of around 40 minutes. Where you can catch the sunset in the heart of the Erg Chebbi dunes, and spend a memorable night with millions of shiny stars. Enjoy a Berber dinner, drum party and sleep in a traditional luxury nomadic tent.

Day 12: Erfoud – ZIZ Valley – Midelt city

Watch sunrise over sand dunes, then breakfast and shower at Desert camp. and then start your tour of Morocco travels via Ziz Valley, and Erfoud south to Midelt. Shortly after passing through the town of Erfoud you can see some of Morocco’s rich fossil fields and quarries and then make your way to the valley carved by the Ziz River into. Here you can enjoy a panoramic view of the beautiful Ziz Gorge with its vast date palm groves.

Passing gorges and palm oasis, the route from Errachidia to Rich crosses through the Middle Atlas Mountains and is one of the most scenic routes across this mountain range. Continuing on to Midelt you begin the climb into the Atlas Mountains. Overnight in Midelt city.

Day 13: Cedar forest – Ifrane – Fes

Today you make your way towards Fes, via Cedar forest Once we get to Azrou, you have a great chance to see the Berber monkey groups in the cedar forest. Before we actually reach Fes, we drive to Ifrane. Ifrane is locally known as “Little Switzerland”, a winter ski area, built in a beautiful style by the French. Overnight stay in Fes.

Day 14: exploring Fez with local expert Guide.

This Fez Full Day City tour will take you to the heart of the imperial city of Fez, which is the city that most reflects the ancestral past of the Moroccan kingdom and its ancient civilization. It was and still remains the core of intellectual and spiritual creativity, not only in Morocco but also in the Islamic world. Fez houses, the oldest university in the world, Al Quaraouiyyne, and its ancient medina was classified as Universal Heritage by UNESCO in 1981.

Traditionally your exploration of the medina should start at the Bab Boujlloud Gate. The first monument to visit is the vast Bou Inania medersa. As you continue along Talaa Kebira Street (big climb), you will particularly admire the Tijani zaouïa (zaouïa, sanctuary of a religious brotherhood) and the instrument makers’ souk before arriving at the mzara (shrine) of the ancient sovereign Moulay Idriss situated at the place where he took the decision to build the town.

Once you have passed the babouche vendors, you arrive in En-Nejjarine Square and the cabinetmakers’ souk. The magnificent carved foundouk (caravanserai) on the square houses the Museum of Wooden Arts and Crafts. The kissaria (covered market), where jewelry and fine fabrics are on sale, is nearby (it is shut at night). Next to it, you can admire the most visited and revered attraction in Fès: the zaouïa of Moulay Idriss, founder of the town.

Your walk continues on to Es-Seffarine Square, the coppersmith square, and then to the tanners’ quarter situated just before the Andalusian quarter with its mosque and the Es-Sahrij medersa. night in a Lovely Riad in Fes

Day 15: explore Meknes with local expert Guide.

Travel from Fes to Meknes when you get to  Meknes we will start with a panoramic view of the entire medina: a tower of the ramparts passing by the fortification doors and entering from Bab EL Khemiss a second, I propose you visit with a carriage to admire the beauty of the city while stopping to contemplate some monuments:

The Agdal basin, the granaries of Moulay Ismail & royal stables, the Royal Palace. The underground prison Qara, the majestic Bab Al Mansour gate & Elhedim square.

Afterwards, a visit to the local market is required. Delicious cakes 100% Moroccan, the best spices with a variety of breathtaking olives.

Finally, a walk is a must. In the old medina, between the narrowest streets of the city, it will be time for you to see the unique and sublime style of traditional houses, mosques, ovens, hammams and fountains: La Medersa bou Inania.

Day 16.  Meknes to Chefchaouen via Volubilis 

After your  breakfast at the Riad  our authentic journey will start towards volubilis.
in volubilis  we will discover  the Roman ruins  and learn about the archeological site   of Moroocan history ,after  the visit of the ruins we will shift our way to blue city Chefchaouen through beautiful views of Rif mountains. Overnight in Chefchaouen city.

Day 17: Free Day in Chefchaouen:

Discover the blue-painted town of Chefchaouen, in Morocco’s Rif Mountains. Take a walking tour of the ‘medina’ (old quarter), filled with houses painted blue and white, a tradition derived from Spanish settlers in medieval times. Absorb the Moorish and Spanish atmosphere, see the 18th-century ‘kasbah’ (fortress), mosque, and main square, and enjoy free time to eat. Stroll, and shop at the souks. Full day trip to Chefchaouen. Visit the blue-hued town of Chefchaouen, in the Rif Mountains Walking tour of the cobbled medina to see the blue-and-white houses View the kasbah, central mosque, and main Utta El Hamam square. Scour the souks for souvenirs like woven fabrics and rugs, Berber jewelry, and leatherware. Night at a Riad in Chefchaouen.

Day 18: Chefchaouen to Asilsh via Tangier city 

In the morning after breakfast? we start our trip to Tangier via Rif Valley and Mountains. When you get to Tangier you will have time to explore the old Medina, Kasbah and also Cap spartal. The meeting point for Atlantic Ocean and Mediterranean sea, after lunch in Tangier, you will Travel to beautiful city of Asilah. Overnight at Riad.

Day 19: Asilah to Casablanca via Rabat the capital of Morocco.

After breakfast departure in the direction of Rabat. Rabat is the capital of Morocco and is a modern city overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. Besides being the seat of government it is the main centre of Moroccan cuisine and architecture. After Casablanca. The medina is picturesque and characterized by narrow, cobbled alleys, art galleries and local craft shops.

We recommend for a short visit the Hassan Tower, a minaret that was once part of the homonymous mosque that was supposed to be the highest in the world but was never finished, because it was destroyed in 1755 following a strong earthquake that had the epicentre in Lisbon. Today the bases of the columns remain of the mosque. The isolated minaret is 44 meters high and is reminiscent of the famous Giralda tower in Seville. Opposite is the Mausoleum of Mohammed V which houses the remains of the King of Morocco and his two sons, King Hassan II and Prince Abdullah. Continue in the afternoon to Casablanca.

DAY 20: CASABLANCA to MARRAKECH or stay in CASABLANCA

After breakfast, visit to the city of Casablanca, the economic capital of Morocco where most of the country’s foreign trade is managed. The city is located along the west coast and resembles a centre of southern Europe. It was built in 1906 where a 7th century Berber town once stood, destroyed by an earthquake in the second half of the 18th century. Outside the medina is the built city of the French, the Nouvelle Ville, full of gardens and avenues, shopping centres, hotels, banks and shops. The most important building to visit is the second largest Mosque in Africa Hassan II.

Depends on your flight departure, if your wish to end your trip in Marrakech. We will travel to Marrakech in the afternoon, and spend the night in Marrakech. but if your flight leaving from Casablanca, you will stay in Casablanca.

Day 21: Airport transfer

Last day of your Morocco 21 day Itinerary. Transfer from your accommodation in Marrakech, to Menara Airport Marrakech.  Or from your Hotel in Casablanca to Mohammed V Airport.

Pick-up can be arranged from Marrakech airport, or any hotel in the city.  Should you wish to tailor this Tour, to your interests and timetable, please let us know.  The accommodations are not guaranteed in high season, sooner you book the better chance we have to secure them.  Tour price per person depends on how many participants there are in your party.  Entrance fees to historical sites are not included. That way we do not charge you for sites you are not interested to visit.  A 4×4 can seat up to 4 adult passengers comfortably. If there are 5 participants and up, a minivan or minibus will be used for your tour.

Morocco trip from Marrakech to Fes, Chefchaouen  and  Casablanca with Mohamed & Said, nothing was ever a hassle, they knew all the stops for great views and photos & both really made our trip so enjoyable fun. We had alot of laughs & learnt alot about Berbers (good riddles) and always felt like we were in safe hands. Accomodation was perfect & Mohamed was always thoughtful about everything and always ensured were happy. Highlight was the camel ride, feeding monkeys in Cedar forest & sunset in the Sahara dunes. We wish we could of spent more time with them & feel now we have a Berber amigo!
